Gino hollander (female universe)

Description

Height 174cm height x width 89cm
Eugene F. Hollander or Gino Hollander was an American painter. He started painting in New York City during the Abstract Expressionist movement, but Hollander has a remarkable predilection for the human figure. One of his most fascinating subjects is the female portrait. In his feminine universe, his enigmatic womens faces are deliberately situated out of nowhere. They are thoughtful, melancholic, immersed in a process of introspection, devoid of joy, but with a certain evocation of hope. The anonymous groups of faceless human figures appear as wandering intertwined in constant motion and sometimes immersed in a kind of dance. They symbolize the solitude of the collective. Each figure is alone in the essence of its being, separate and isolated
