Luca Madrassi was a French artist of Italian origin best known for his Art Nouveau bronze sculptures of mythological, allegorical, and rustic figures. His work was influenced by the famous French illustrator and sculptor Gustave Doré. Born on June 8, 1848 in Tricesimo, Italy, he studied with Pierre-Jules Cavelier at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and then worked in Dorés studio. Madrassi exhibited in the Salon of the Society of French Artists from 1879 onwards, becoming a French citizen in 1890. The artist died in 1919 in Paris, France.
